Another impressive win for Smoken Ace as he reels them in at Shepparton

posted in: News

Smoken Ace has claimed his second win at Shepparton, rounding the field for an impressive win over 2190m (June 16, 2023).

From the widest draw at the mobile, trainer Kyle Marshall dropped the two-year-old colt to the back of the field and let him settle.

Halfway through the race, Marshall took Smoken Ace one wide and steadily made progress till he ended up outside the leader with 800m to go.

The pre-race favourite Our Roku tried to shake off the challenge but Smoken Ace was too good, finishing strongly to win by two lengths.

It gave the youngster two wins from as many starts, both at Shepparton.

Smoken Ace paid $1.90 for the win and $1.30 for the place at the Australian TAB.
