Bach blitzes field to complete hat trick of wins at Melton

posted in: News

Hot favourite Bach has blitzed a field at Melton, finishing almost eight metres ahead of his nearest rivals, to score a hat trick of wins at the track.

For his previous win, driver Chris Alford sat patiently, waiting for the sprint lane to pounce late.

Not this time. Alford pushed the five-year-old gelding forward from his second row start, and improved around the field with 1400m to go.

As they turned for home, Blitz had taken the lead and Alford let him power to the line for his third win from starts since joining the Kyle Marshall Racing stable from New Zealand.

The win took Bach’s career record to 11 wins from his 33 starts, and earned another A$10,000 stake, to take his career earnings to A$127,000.
