After five consecutive placings, four-year-old Ata Rangi will attempt to land his first victory in his current campaign when he lines up at Geelong on Friday.

The gelding goes off the second row over the mile distance, and is the pre-race favourite with fixed odds bookies.

From his 10 career starts, Ata Rangi has a win and six placings, with career earnings of A$13,090.

His win was also at Geelong, over the same mile distance, last June.
