The team at Kyle Marshall Racing are farewelling yearling Cocktails and Caviar — known by his stable name ‘Leo’ — as the striking black colt heads to his new home at Auckland’s Stonewall Stud.

Cocktails and Caviar (Bettor’s Delight-Alta Leonie), bred by KMR’s racing advisor, Dave Marshall, was sold to the big-spending Stonewall Stud for $140,000 at the National Standardbred Yearling Sales at Karaka on February 13.

He was one of 130 yearlings to go under the auctioneer’s hammer and was one of 13 bought by Stonewall Stud who spent more than $1.3 million on the day.

The colt is eligible for the NZ Sires Stakes series and the Breeders’ Crown.

Kyle Marshall said he and KMR staff will follow ‘Leo’ with interest and they wished his new owners well for a successful racing career.
