New Zealand pacer Bach breaks through for first win in Australia

posted in: News

Recent stable arrival Bach has won at his second start in Australia, powering to victory in a $17,500 mile event at Melton.

Sent out favourite, the five-year-old gelding settled one out and one back, driven patiently by Chris Alford.

With 800 metres to go, Bach gradually pulled forward, ready to pounce when the field turned for home.

Bach took control down the straight and charged to the line ahead of his nearest challengers.

The win took Bach’s career record to nine wins from his 31 starts, and gave him his first victory in Australia since moving from New Zealand in late 2023.
