Patient drive by Marshall gets Demolition Man home for win

posted in: Drives, News

A patient drive by Kyle Marshall got five-year-old Demolition Man up for his second lifetime win in the opening event at Cambridge Raceway’s July 9 meeting.

Marshall dropped Demolition Man into the trail behind pacemaker Safrakova and ensured he did not have to cover any unnecessary ground as he awaited his chance.

As the field swung for home, Marshall took advantage of the passing lane and Demolition Man pulled clear to win by a length.

Marshall was driving the trotter for trainer Trevor Phillips in the 2200m Buteline Trot.

The win provided connections with a $5,900 winning stake, taking lifetime earnings to more than $30,000.

At the tote, he paid $6.80 for the win and $2.10 for the place.
