Football star and harness racing enthusiast Ricki Herbert will manage the syndicated ownership of an unraced filly being trained by Kyle Marshall Racing.
The three-year-old brown filly (pictured with trainer Kyle Marshall) is Tennesee Honey, by Rock N Roll Heaven from Amaretto Dream.
She qualified on Christmas Eve, 2020, coming second in a 2200m qualifying trial at Cambridge Raceway, covering the distance in 2-49.2 with the winner’s mile rate of 2-03.7.
Herbert, the former coach of the All Whites and the Wellington Phoenix, is a keen owner of harness racers and has previously trained them in partnership with his late father, Clive Herbert.
In early 2021, he regained his driver’s licence and has been working with the Kyle Marshall Racing team on a number of initiatives. These include forming syndicates of owners to enjoy the fun and benefits of ownership.
Shares in Tennessee Honey were made available in February 2021 and the offer closed four days later, with the syndication fully subscribed.
