Ruebe Starbuck breaks through for maiden win with bold frontrunning display

posted in: News

Three-year-old filly Ruebe Starbuck has blitzed a field over the mile at Cranbourne to record her first career win.

Having only her second start, Ruebe Starbuck was taken straight to the lead by trainer/driver Kyle Marshall.

Marshall controlled the pace and caught the field hopping when he increased the filly’s lead to almost 20 metres before the final bend.

In the straight, Marshall had time to look over his shoulder to make sure there were no challengers, and Ruebe Starbuck cruised to the post with a winning margin of 17 metres.

On the Australian tote, Ruebe Starbuck paid $8.00 for the win and $2.90 for the place. In New Zealand, Kyle Marshall Racing supporters earned $6.40 and $2.40 at the TAB.
