New Zealand pacer Bach will aim to complete a hat trick of wins at Melton when he lines up for another $17,500 feature on Saturday.
The five-year-old gelding is showing a liking for Melton, having won two more $17,500 events as well as a barrier trial there.
Bach crossed the Tasman to settle at the Kyle Marshall Racing stables ahead of the $100,000 Decron Gold Cup in mid-February.
Trainer Kyle Marshall says the New Zealand import is being prepared for a campaign at Queensland’s winter carnival.
“He’s got to keep going forward to target those (Group 1’s), but he is on the right track,” Marshall told The Trots.
“We will head to Queensland, race him up there in the winter carnival in July, see how we go in those races and then go from there.
“He will have one or two more starts and then go for a two to three month freshen-up before the trip to Queensland.”
