Hot pot Lanning gets favourite punters home with maiden win at Warragul

Stable newcomer Lanning has landed her first raceday win with a frontrunning display at Warragul.

Backed into hot favouritism, the four-year-old mare was taken to the front by driver Kyle Marshall soon after leaving the mobile barrier from her outside draw.

Marshall controlled the pace and had enough in the tank to repel late challenges.

Lanning … gets her breakthrough win.

On the Australian tote, Lanning paid $1.30 for the win and $1.12 for the place. In New Zealand, Marshall supporters earned $1.20 and $1.20 at the TAB.

Stablemate Saverio came home in fifth place.
