Wharewhiti will sprint over the 1200m course at Melton on Saturday night, contesting a $10,000 event.
The six-year-old gelding has drawn lane three behind the mobile barrier.
Wharewhiti has won three races since crossing the Tasman from New Zealand as a maiden last May.
He’s now won A$22,698 from his 25-race career.
