Smoken Ace resumes after a five-month spell in a $50,000 mile feature at Melton on Saturday.
The four-year-old starts on the outside of the second row in the Group 3 event.
Smoken Ace, who won his last two starts, including a win at Melton, has won two qualifying trials at Melton on January 7 and January 13 to prepare for his return.
He’s had seven wins and three placings from his 15-start career, and earned A$64,485 so far.
Hugo Maguire starts in the opening event, looking to improve on his last start fourth at the same track.
The gelding has seven wins from 28 career starts, with earnings of A$56,328, and is drawn on the front row.
