Four-year-old Son Of Mac has returned to winning form with an emphatic win at Melton.

Drawn wide, driver/trainer Kyle Marshall manoeuvred Son Of Mac into a forward position, one off the inside rail, before taking control of the race with a lap and a half to go.

Marshall set the pace, forcing the rest of the field to work hard to stay within reach.

As they turned for home, Son Of Mac showed he had plenty left in the tank as he went to the post 5 metres in front of the nearest challenger.

The win was Son Of Mac’s eighth in a career of 19 starts, and his earnings are now almost A$100,000.

Son Of Mac leads the field as they head for the finish post.

On the Australian tote, Son Of Mac paid $5.20 for the win and $2.20 for the place. In New Zealand, Kyle Marshall Racing supporters earned $3.90 and $2.00 at the TAB.
